Downtown Buzz: Nest Wants to Build a Bigger San Diego Startup Community

This week’s business and tech news from around downtown

Follow the Money

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Intel has purchased San Diego startup Arynga, a company that handles in-vehicle software updates over cellular or wifi networks. The amount of the sale is undisclosed. Good news is that the company’s 20 employees are moving—but not to the Bay Area. They will join forces with Wind River, an automotive product line owned by Intel, in their San Diego offices.

Ossic is headed into the final few days of its Kickstarter campaign. With a goal of $100,000, their results of more than 8,000 backers who have pledged almost $2.3 million demonstrate a strong market for the company. Ossic makes 3D audio headphones that are the first on the market to take into account your anatomy while adjusting sound.

Hera Hub has San Diego locations in Carlsbad, Sorrento Valley, and Mission Valley, as well as a franchise in Washington, D.C., with plans to open in many more cities in the years to come.
