Innovation That Matters is a new report ranking U.S. cities/markets based on which ones are most ready to take on the digital economy. Chock-full of interesting data about startups and talent, the report ranks San Diego at #5 in the country in terms of digital readiness. The report is commissioned by D.C.-based incubator 1776, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Free Enterprise.

Attracting Talent

A Little South of Downtown
This year’s San Diego Startup Week will feature a new cross-border track that will allow attendees to get some insight into the opportunities and talent that exist just across the border in Tijuana. Many in the startup community have accompanied the Downtown Partnership on a tour of the startup ecosystem growing in T.J. This track will be one more opportunity to get a first-hand look at what is going on south of the border and how it can benefit San Diego’s startup community.

Evonexus portfolio company Footprints Mobile got a shout-out on IT Toolbox recently. The differentiator for Footprints is apparently the way they track customer location and share data with other platforms, directing the right information into the right sales people’s hands at the right time.
