When Interactive Day San Diego takes over Downtown and East Village on May 12, it’s bringing some big names to the city with even more interesting stories to tell. Here are the three speakers we wouldn’t miss.
Loretta Hidalgo Whitesides is the keynote speaker during lunch at Quartyard. She is one of the first 100 people to buy a ticket for a sub-orbital spaceflight on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo and will likely fly in 2018. How has she prepared for her spaceflight? With over five hours of time spent floating weightless in a 727 aircraft as a Flight Director for Zero-G Corporation. Equally impressive, she currently teaches Jedi Training at Virgin Galactic and is working on her book about using the power of space to bring out the best in humanity.
Ever met a Snapchat celebrity? Interactive Day is your chance. Danny Berk is a semi-professional surfer and Snapchat content creator. He was identified by Business Insider as a top Snapchat star to follow, nominated for the 2015 Shorty Awards for Snapchatter of the Year, and has worked with brands such as Red Bull, The World Surf League, Jack in the Box, Zillow, ESPN/ X Games, and Cinnabon. Berk will speak as part of the Technology Track happening at Meads Durket.
Steve Wilhite, the closing keynote speaker, has a resume most marketing professionals only dream of. He led development of the “Drivers Wanted” campaign at Volkswagen and the launch of the new Beetle. While at Apple, he worked on the launch of the Apple store before becoming VP of marketing for the Nissan and Infiniti brands. He was later recruited to be the COO of Hyundai North America. In addition to his expertise in business strategy and communications, we’re hoping there will be a few juicy stories about the aforementioned campaigns we all loved.
