Since Qualcomm opened Thinkabit Lab three years ago, thousands of students have learned about STEM fields while participating in hands-on activities in its lab / maker space / classroom. Thinkabit Lab has also inspired eight similar operations in San Diego County, and one at Virginia Tech University. Now there’s a free toolkit for schools, libraries, and businesses that want to create their own version of the Thinkabit Lab. It includes guidelines, materials, and teaching resources based on Thinkabit’s signature activities, such as creating robotic handicrafts.
