The New Children’s Museum is infusing San Diego with a love of art and creativity. Its signature outreach program, Mass Creativity, now in its sixth year, is bringing hands-on art workshops to Casa Familiar Civic and Recreation Center, the Skyline Hills Library, the San Diego LGBT Community Center, and the Southern Sudanese Community Center. The workshops aim to inspire young artists in the making who might not otherwise have had the resources, time, or space to explore their creativity.
It’ll all culminate in Mass Creativity Day, a free celebration of art, music, entertainment, activities, and more at and around the New Children’s Museum on June 23.
This year’s edition of Mass Creativity includes two new components: Mi Familia, Mi Historia, which focuses on family stories and narrative art, and Comunidad, a two-year program that’ll help bring creative activities and professional development opportunities to more communities.
