Industry Leaders: Sarah Yasukochi

PLNU MBA Graduate, Owner and Creative Director of Blaze + Wander

By

While a student in PLNU’s Evening MBA program, Sarah Yasukochi came up with the blueprints of her successful children’s boutique Blaze + Wander. A San Diego-based online store and pop-up shop, Blaze + Wander is a two-time winner of California Children’s Boutique of the Year.

Yasukochi, who earned her MBA in 2006, chose PLNU to grow her leadership and marketing skills. “Tools and platforms are always changing, but the foundational elements of branding, marketing, and public relations still hold.” she says.

“What I learned through small classes with experienced professors, guest speakers with varied backgrounds, and field experiences all still apply to what I’m doing today. I didn’t just gain friends and new skills from PLNU to help me climb a corporate ladder, I walked away with the knowledge, know-how and inspiration to build a business of my own.”
