The impressive rankings and the praise for San Diego as a startup hub just keep coming. This week CNBC decided to take a closer look. You will find the familiar faces of TapHunter founders Melani and Flash Gordon in the story. You will also find a few good lines you can use to talk trash to your friends in Silicon Valley.

Mashable has spotlighted four cities stealing startups from Silicon Valley, and San Diego is at the top of the list. Citing talent, resources, workspaces, and lifestyle, San Diego led the list which also included Los Angeles, Denver, and Seattle.

 

Ok, This is Getting Embarrassing

A San Francisco-based research firm, Clean Edge, ranked San Diego third in the nation in its annual U.S. Clean Tech Leadership Index. San Diego’s rise from fourth to third may have more to do with policy and politics than tech, but hey, we will still take it.

 

New EvoNexus Startups

EvoNexus announced their new startup classes for downtown, La Jolla, and Irvine. These 14 new companies bring the total portfolio to 45 companies currently incubating at one of the three locations.

 

Like Exercise, Hate Commitment? There’s an App for That

Local startup Lymber is bringing the concept of popular New York-based fitness subscription service ClassPass to San Diego and Los Angeles. But instead of a monthly fee, Lymber is offering pay-as-you-go classes. It is a different model, and the U-T has the rundown on why it just might work.
