Local senior health and safety company Great Call has purchased Minnesota-based Healthsense for an undisclosed amount. Great Call provides connected health and safety solutions for older adults and their caregivers. The acquisition provides Great Call with a new arm into senior living communities.

SDVG and TCA Combine to Create Largest SD Pitch Event

On December 13 at the San Diego Venture Group’s (SDVG) annual Pitch Fest event, President Mike Krenn announced the 2017 collaboration of SDVG and Tech Coast Angels (TCA) to create a single pitch event under TCA’s John G. Watson Quick Pitch Competition moniker. The goal of the organization is to bring together the entire San Diego startup community of entrepreneurs, investors, and sponsors to make the annual competition the largest pitch event in prize money in San Diego history. Stay tuned as details will be announced in early 2017.
